Now the most cherished room in the house, this sun porch addition offers panoramic views and interior comfort in stark contrast to the previous worn, wind-blown, and buggy deck.
The new design works with the form of the existing house, improving it's curb appeal, usefulness, and the quality of life it supports.
The sun porch features in-floor radiant heat, ceramic tile flooring (thermal mass to mitigate the sun's heat), cross-ventilation through operable windows, air-conditioning, and a generous connection to the existing kitchen and dining area.
Below the sun porch is unheated storage for lawn and garden equipment.
Our Interior Designer worked with the client to select finishes and paint colors to tie together the whole house. This was challenging, given the range of existing furniture, carpets, wood species, and the Owner's china collection.
