Cubs Visit Local Studio
February 2nd, 2007 by Peter SchmelzerYesterday, the Weblos Den from Cub Scout Pack 300 visited the Faribault studio of Ivan Whillock, carver, painter, sculptor and musician.
Ivan showed the boys his first painting, made when he was nine years old (the same age as many of the Scouts!), then told them about wood, carving, sculpture and painting. He even demonstrated carving on the statue shown above. The visit was part of the Artist Activity Pin requirement. Thank you, Ivan, for inspiring our boys.
Afterward, we walked across the street and had pizza (and a good time) together.
If you would like to join the fun and expose your son to a great variety of interesting, engaging, and enjoyable activities, give me a call or drop me a note!
