No, it’s not Mary nor me; It’s my brother Paul.
I thought I’d spread the news about his writing a little bit today.
He recently received 2nd place in the Society of Professional Journalists’ Page One Awards!
1st place went to MN Public Radio in the “Web Site: Best Special Report” category. MPR required an entire newsroom and entered an entire campaign website to take first.
Here’s a link to the story; look for the last entry on the second page. And here’s a link to the Page One Awards.
This may be historic: this is the first time a Society of Professional Journalist award went to an online-only news source.
Congratulations, Paul!
Check out his writing at Eyeteeth.org and the Minnesota Monitor.
My studies of sustainability in architecture are now reflected in a new credential; Yesterday I passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accreditation exam.
As such, I am now the only LEED Accredited Architect in Northfield. Here’s what accreditation means:
LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the integrated design and LEED certification process.
LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources, and processes.

For our clients, this credential is an assurance or our professional intent to both promote green building design and to do it.
Interestingly enough, I received this (LEED catches on in Minnesota) in the e-mail this morning from my brother Paul (Thanks, Paul!) LEED is alive and well in Minnesota!
